Binder et al. introduce a classification of the frameworks used in analysis of Socio-Ecological Systems (SES). They conclude that no single framework can be universally applied to all SES studies, and instead the best framework for a given study should be selected in light of its pros and cons, and the research concerns of the study at hand.
