[ Reed et al. 2009. Who’s in and why? A typology of stakeholder analysis methods for natural resource management. J. of Environmental Management. 90: 1933-49. ] Reed et al. (2009) review the various extant methods of stakeholder analysis, concentrating on methods for identifying stakeholders, categorizing stakeholders and investigating the relationships between stakeholders. They then detail the limitations of all extant methods, and provide a framework to best perform stakeholder analysis, cautioning that the best stakeholder analysis method is often dependent on the aims and context of the research study at hand.
